From this year on, there will be a distinction between Dutch euro coins minted for circulation and Dutch coins minted for collector purposes!
The Royal Dutch Mint has confirmed that all euro coins minted for circulation will no longer bear mint marks. All coins minted for collector editions (BU sets, proof sets, coincards,...) will still bear the Mercury's Wand and St Servaas bridge marks.
This new mint strategy has started from this year on and will also be pursued in the upcoming years.
Regarding the Dutch 2020 coins, it means that there will be two types of regular 5 cent coins as the 5c coin is the only denomination that will be minted for circulation this year.
Wrap-up:
- Dutch 5c coins dated 2020 in collector editions (BU/proof sets and cards) will still bear the Mercury's Wand and St Servaas bridge marks
- Dutch 5c coins dated 2020 that are put in circulation (10 million pieces) won't bear marks!

Από φέτος τα νομίσματα κυκλοφορίας δεν θα φέρουν κανενός είδους σύμβολο νομισματοκοπείου. Μόνο τα νομίσματα που προορίζονται για συλλέκτες σε οποιαδήποτε μορφή (BU, Proof, Coincards) θα έχουν ως σύμβολο το ραβδί του Ερμή (κηρύκειο) και την γέφυρα St Servaas.
Είναι πράγματι ένας καλός τρόπος να αυξήσεις το ενδιαφέρον για νομισματικές εκδόσεις όταν αυτό έχει μηδενιστεί.
